Tooth colored fillings are made from composite resin, a durable material that is very similar in both color and texture to your natural teeth. The resin used for tooth colored fillings can flow into smaller areas, so less tooth is removed to create the filling. Using tooth colored fillings, the tooth remains stronger than with old metal fillings, and further decay is easier to detect and repair. The ultimate advantage to tooth colored fillings, however, is that nobody can tell you have fillings.
